CCI Global Partners with Tatu City to Launch After-School AI Program Empowering Young Learners

Tatu City, one of Africa’s fastest-growing urban developments located on the outskirts of Nairobi, has launched an After-School Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program in partnership with CCI Global

Tatu City, one of Africa’s fastest-growing urban developments located on the outskirts of Nairobi, has launched an After-School Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program in partnership with CCI Global, a milestone initiative designed to equip young learners with future-ready digital skills.

The program, part of Tatu Reach, Tatu City’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiative, also marked the graduation of its first cohort of students who completed a 13-week course in front-end web development and artificial intelligence.

Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators

The After-School AI Program targets students aged 14 to 15 years, introducing them to core principles of coding, creativity, and digital competence through hands-on lessons in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The first class, composed of 20 students from Tatu Primary School, spent three months developing problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills to prepare for future technology careers.

Representatives from the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy (MoICDE) attended the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing digital innovation, inclusion, and skills development.

CCI Global’s Role in Empowering the Next Generation

As one of the program’s founding partners, CCI Global played a key role in its success by contributing resources, mentorship, and technical expertise. Together with Qhala, Power Learn Project Africa, Ngeda, and Viking Cruises, CCI Global helped provide the curriculum, tutors, and essential equipment that made the initiative possible.

Building a Digitally Empowered Community

Since 2023, the Tatu City Training Academy has offered complimentary vocational training to over 600 Kenyans in careers such as masonry, plumbing, steel fixing, and security. The launch of the AI Program extends these efforts into technology, helping bridge the digital divide and prepare young learners for the modern economy.

Beyond education, Tatu Reach continues to drive community development through initiatives such as its school feeding program, which has provided more than two million meals, and Tatu Rugby, which teaches teamwork and discipline through sport.

A Smart City for the Future

Developed by Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban developer, Tatu City currently welcomes more than 25,000 residents, workers, and students daily, with total investments exceeding KES 400 billion. The city is home to a growing community of global and local brands including Heineken, CCI Global, Naivas, Emirates Logistics, Cold Solutions, FullCare Medical, Dormans, NCBA, and Davis & Shirtliff.

Through initiatives like the After-School AI Program, CCI Global continues to champion impact sourcing, education, and community empowerment, reinforcing its mission to create meaningful employment and life-changing opportunities across Africa.
